December 14, 2020

In the midst of a national state of public health emergency where our health workers are most needed, it is imperative that their welfare is secured as the country continues to hammer down and move closer to finally eliminating COVID-19.

As public health workers, many of us in the DOH have experienced working on the ground, in different silos of health facilities, which is why we fully empathize with the plight of our front liners who are with us in our mission.

As of writing, the Department of Health - Metro Manila Center for Health Development (MMCHD) has already processed 315 claims of grantees amounting to almost 26M for health workers who contracted COVID-19. Further, 615 claims amounting to 10M are also currently being processed for distribution to qualified health workers.

Bearing in mind the present situation, DOH maintains its position of providing critical support to healthcare workers who are heroically containing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, in the form of the much-needed Active Duty Hazard Pay (AHDP), Special Risk Allowance (SRA) and additional manpower to reinforce their ranks

DOH - MMCHD Regional Director Corazon I. Flores expresses the regional office's unwavering support for the healthcare workers who are presently putting their lives at risk in the performance of their public health functions. Further stressing that the department will exert all efforts in ensuring our frontliners would get all the support and assistance they need.
