MMCHD DIRECTOR FLORES PROMOTES MR-SIA, OTHER HEALTH CAMPAIGNS

Metro Manila Center for Health Development Officer-In-Charge/Director IV, Dr. Corazon I. Flores today guested thru an on-line interview at the early morning teleradyo news and information program of NET 25, “Pambansang Almusal,” to publicly announce the upcoming Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity of the Department of Health.

The Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity, according to Dr. Flores, is a synchronized add-on immunization campaign that aims to vaccinate all children aged 9 to 59 months against measles and rubella throughout the country on the entire February 2021. She advised parents and caregivers to bring their children to the health center for supplemental vaccination.

Director Flores also emphasized that vaccines are safe and effective and that vaccination activities will be done in health facilities. Adherence to the basic health and safety protocols as response to the prevention of COVID-19 transmission will be strictly implemented.

Since it is December, Dr. Flores also took the opportunity to advocate the use of alternative and safe means of merriment to celebrate the yuletide season. This is in compliance to the Iwas Paputok Campaign of the health department discouraging the public from using firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices to rejoice the yearend holidays.
