Nakatanggap mula sa Chinese Embassy ng Autoclave at iba pang equipment ang Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium (DJNRMHS) at Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH) para sa pagpapabuti ng pagtugon ng bansa sa COVID-19 medical waste management.

Ang pagtanggap ay nangyari sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng Handover Ceremony sa Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium (DJNRMHS) nitong ika-16 ng Disyembre, 2022.

Ito ay sa pangunguna nina Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge, Undersecretary Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, Chinese Embassy to the Philippines Minister Counselor Yang Guoliang, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Deputy Resident Representative to the Philippines, Mr. Edwine Carrie, Metro Manila Center for Health Development Regional Director, Dr. Gloria J. Balboa, Pasig City Vice Mayor Robert Vincent Jaworski, at DJNRMHS Medical Center Chief, Dr. Alfonso Victorino H. Famaran, Jr.

Layon ng Chinese Embassy na ibahagi sa Pilipinas ang mga naging matagumpay na karanasan at istratehiya na kanilang isinasagawang pagtugon sa COVID-19 medical waste management. Gayundin ang pagkakaroon ng regional connectivity sa Metro Manila hindi lamang para sa proyektong ito, kundi para paigtingin pa ang pagtutulungan ng dalawang bansa.

Nagpapasalamat naman si Usec. Vergeire sa Chinese Embassy at UNDP sa pabibigay ng tulong upang mas mapaigting pa ng Pilipinas ang pagtugon sa COVID-19 pandemic lalo na sa usaping healthcare waste management.

“Your support during this unprecedented time truly reflects the spirit “bayanihan” - a fundamental aspect of Filipino culture that means working together and ensuring community efficacy towards a common goal. We hope that by continuing to forge our partnerships, the work towards a Healthy Pilipinas progresses as well,” dagdag pa ni Usec. Vergeire.

Ayon naman kay Minister Counselor Yang Guoliang, handa ang China na makipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang bansa kabilang na ang Pilipinas upang isagawa ang multilateralismo, isulong ang pagpapatupad ng Global Development Initiative at Global Security Initiative, palalimin ang praktikal na kooperasyon ng mga bansa sa lahat ng larangan at mapabuti ang pagtugon sa mga pandaigdigang hamon gaya ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“China is willing to work with the Philippine side to fulfill consensus between our leaders, stay focused on development and cooperation, embrace opportunities, expand the cooperation in public health sector, strengthen our ties as close neighbors, good relatives and friendly partners, and bring more tangible benefits to our people” saad pa nito.
