Ito ang sinabi ni Department of Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III nang pormal niyang buksan ang Healthy Pilipinas Awards nitong ika-4 ng Marso taon 2022. Aniya, “Heathy Pilipinas Awards will lead to the reinforcement of the existing programs and establishment of new ones at the LGU level that will ultimately result in increased community engagement.”
Sa mensahe naman ni Director Beverly Ho ng Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) at Disease Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCB), sinabi niya na “Healthy Communities will not be possible without LGUs-working very hard on their locally relevant programs.” Nagpasalamat din siya sa mga civil society partners mula sa U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Redscope Communication Inc., Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP), Imagine Law, AHA Behavioral Design, at #MentalHealthPH
Nakapagtala ng 120 entries mula sa iba’t-ibang lungsod ng bansa ang Healthy Pilipinas Awards at pinangatawanan ng Valenzuela, Quezon City, Marikina at San Juan ang NCR.
Tinanggap ng Quezon City ang parangal na Healthy Pilipinas Awards People's Choice for Priority Area 1 na Nutrition and Physical Activity para sa knailang Food Security and Healthy Public Food Procurement. Ginawad din sa kanila ang Healthy Pilipinas Awards People's Choice for Piorirty Area 2 na Environmental Health para sa kanilang “Camp Coordination and Camp Management Program” at Healthy Pilipinas Awards People's Choice for Priority Area 5 na Mental Health para sa “YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: The Quezon City Community-Based Mental Health Program” entry.
Ang Valenzuela LGU naman ay pinarangalan ng Healthy Pilipinas Awards People's Choice for Priority Area 7 para sa Violence and Injury Prevention na “Juana Be Wais: Communicating Violence Prevention” entry.
Habang ang lungsod naman ng San Juan ay pinarangalan ng Healthy Pilipinas Awards People's Choice for COVID-19 Prevention: Minimum Public Health Standards para sa kanilang “San Juan City COVID-19 Prevention (MinimumPublic Health Standards) Program” at Healthy Pilipinas Awards People's Choice for BIDA Solusyon para sa kanilang "Ako ay San Juaneño, Bakunado at Protektado" San Juan City Vaccine Information Dissemination” entry.
Labis naman ang galak ng iba pang nakatanggap ng parangal dahil isang karangalan muli ang kanilang naibigay sa lokal na pamahalaan.
