CARDINAL SANTOS MEDICAL CENTER HOLDS CEREMONIAL COVID-19 VACCINATION

Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City commenced its COVID-19 vaccination program of healthcare providers today in a simple ceremonial rite held at the PCAS Auditorium. Guests, vaccination teams and vaccinees were warmly welcomed by Dr. Zenaida Javier-Uy, the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Among the dignitaries who graced and shared their encouraging messages during the groundbreaking event were Undersecretary Mercedita A. Sombilla who represented Secretary Karl Kandrick Chua of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Secretary. Vivencio “Vince” B. Dizon, Deputy Chief Implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19. Hospital staff who volunteered to be inoculated in the ceremonial activity to be among the first vaccines of the hospital are the following - Ms. Marial Louzel Diaz, Vice President and Head of the Huma Resources Department; Dr. Edgar Michael Eufemio, Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics; and Dr. Sergie Paul Fernandez, Chief Resident of the Department of Internal Medicine. The Assistant Vice President and Head of the Ancillary Services, Dr. Monserrat Velasquez was tasked as the vaccinator and administered the initial doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines to the vaccinees. Dr. Corazon I. Flores, Officer-In-Charge/Director IV of the Department of Health - Metro Manila Center for Health Development, congratulated the officers and healthcare providers of Cardinal Santos Medical Center as she delivered her closing remarks.
