The East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City today started off with its COVID-19 vaccination among the healthcare providers with a simple ceremonial event. Dr. Alfonso Nuñez III, the Medical Center Chief, welcomed the guests, vaccination team members and vaccines to this momentous ocassion. Among the dignitaries who graced the event and expressed their inspirational messages were the following: Secretary Francisco T. Duque III of the Department of Health, Undersecretary Martin B. Diño of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and Mayor Maria Josefina G. Belmonte of Quezon City. Secretary Duque had the opportunity to administer the initial dose of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine to Dr. Nuñez and other medical frontline workers who volunteered for this symbolic activity. Dr. Elmer G. Punzalan, Assistant Secretary of Health for the National Capital Region and Metro Manila Hospitals formally closed the ceremony with his message of encouragement. Representatives from the broadcast, print and online media covered the entire program.
