Pasig City, known for its famous tagline “Pasig, umaagos ang Pag-asa”, indeed shed rays of hope as it joins the symbolic vaccination at its very own Local Government Unit (LGU) Hospital Pasig City General Hospital. Medical frontliners of the said hospital received their CoronaVac by Sinovac; with the saying “Bakuna ng Pag-asa.”
Mayor Vico Sotto, the city’s current “Ama ng Pasigueño”, gave his full support in the symbolic vaccination. “Let’s trust the experts – the best vaccine in the world is the vaccine that is readily available”, Mayor Vico stated in his speech in the opening ceremonies. The event was also graced by Secretary Vince Dizon – NTF Deputy Chief Implemeter, DOH Director Napoleon Arevalo and PCGH Medical Director Paulo Roman A. Castro Jr.
Dr. Nerissa G. Sabarre, Incident Command Team Leader of Pasig Covid-19 Referral Facility, was the first to be inoculated; followed by Dr. Bernadette Bajit, Dr. Ian Anthony M. Castro, Dr. Karla Kristel A. Bañares, and Nurse Brenda B. Lizardo. They undergone screening and counselling, and had signed consent forms before receiving their vaccination.
